Behind the Whisk

I’m Megan, the heart, hands, and frosting-covered apron behind The Velvet Whisk Bakery, and I’m so glad you’re here! My baking journey began when my oldest asked me to make her birthday cake. At the time, I didn’t know how to bake, but I gave it my best, and I’ve loved it ever since. Baking runs deep in my family - my grandma, my mom, and other relatives have always been amazing bakers - and I’m proud to carry on that tradition in my own way.

What started as a single cake has grown into a true passion for creating sweet memories! I love working closely with clients to bring their vision to life, whether it’s for a birthday, a wedding, or simply a special treat. Every cake and dessert is made from scratch with high-quality ingredients, crafted with care to bring your vision to life.

As a proud military spouse who has called Eastern North Carolina home for over 13 years, I feel honored to serve the greater Jacksonville community. When I’m not in the kitchen, you can usually find me spending time with my kids, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying a run outdoors.
