Planning a celebration comes with plenty of questions, and we're here to help. Below you'll find answers to common questions about ordering, flavors, pickup and delivery, wedding tastings, and more.

Ordering & Availability

How do I place an order?

Orders can be submitted through the appropriate form on our Order Forms page. Once received, we’ll review your inquiry and respond within 48 hours with a quote or next steps.

How far in advance should I place my order?

We recommend placing your order as early as possible, especially during busy seasons such as spring graduations, wedding season, and fall military ball season. Availability varies throughout the year, and some dates may book weeks or even months in advance.

Do you accept last minute orders?

Last minute availability depends on our schedule and the complexity of the order. We recommend submitting an inquiry as soon as possible to check availability.

Pricing & Payment

How is pricing determined?

Pricing is based on serving size, design complexity, decorations, flavors, and delivery requirements.

Do you require a deposit?

Orders totaling $200 or more require a 50% nonrefundable deposit to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event. Orders under $200 require payment in full at booking. Orders are not considered confirmed until payment is received.

What payment methods do you accept?

Invoices are sent through Square, which accepts all major credit and debit cards, CashApp, and direct bank transfer.

Cakes & Desserts

Do you offer custom designs?

Yes! Every order is customized to reflect your event, theme, color palette, and design preferences.

What flavors do you offer?

Our current flavor offerings can be found on our Menu page. If you’re looking for something specific that isn’t listed, you can include it in your order inquiry and we’ll let you know if it can be accommodated.

How are serving sizes determined?

Serving estimates are based on standard event serving sizes and may vary depending on how the cake is cut.

Wedding Orders

Do you offer wedding tastings?

Yes. We offer pickup tasting boxes featuring five of our most popular wedding flavor combinations. The cost of your tasting box may be credited toward a qualifying wedding order when booked within a specified time-frame. Please contact us for current details.

Pickup & Delivery

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Pickup is available for all orders and is our standard fulfillment method. Complimentary delivery is available within a limited service area for qualifying orders. Delivery outside this area may be available for an additional fee. Tiered cakes require delivery to ensure safe transport and setup.

What areas do you serve?

We proudly serve Jacksonville, Camp Lejeune, New River Air Station, and surrounding communities throughout Eastern North Carolina.

Allergies & Dietary Restrictions

Can you accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions?

While we can accommodate some requests, all products are prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary restrictions when submitting your inquiry. 

Policies

Can I make changes to my order after booking?

Minor changes may be accommodated depending on timing and availability. Once an order is in progress, changes cannot be guaranteed due to scheduling, design work, and ingredients or supplies already purchased. We recommend contacting us as soon as possible with any requested changes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits and retainers are nonrefundable, as they reserve your event date. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Refund eligibility for payments beyond the deposit will depend on the timing of the cancellation and work already completed.

When is final payment due?

Final payment for orders requiring a deposit is due 14 days before the event date unless otherwise stated in your contract or invoice.

Why do tiered cakes require delivery?

Tiered cakes are more susceptible to shifting or damage during transport. To ensure they arrive safely and are properly assembled, all tiered cakes require delivery by The Velvet Whisk Bakery.
