I’m Megan, the heart, hands, and frosting-covered apron behind The Velvet Whisk Bakery, and I’m so glad you’re here! My baking journey began when my oldest asked me to make her birthday cake. At the time, I didn’t know how to bake, but I gave it my best, and I’ve loved it ever since! Baking runs deep in my family. My grandma, my mom, and other relatives have always been amazing bakers, and I’m proud to carry on that tradition in my own way.
What started as a single cake has grown into a true passion for creating sweet memories! I love working closely with clients to bring their vision to life, whether it’s for a birthday, a wedding, or simply a special treat. From the first conversation to the final details, I take a hands-on, thoughtful approach to every order so each dessert feels personal and intentional.
Every cake and dessert is made from scratch using thoughtfully chosen, high-quality ingredients, crafted with care from start to finish. I believe great desserts start with great ingredients and attention to detail, and that shows in both the flavor and the finished design!
As a proud military spouse who has called Eastern North Carolina home for over 13 years, I feel honored to serve the greater Jacksonville community. When I’m not in the kitchen, you can usually find me spending time with my kids, getting lost in a good book, or training for the next marathon!
